When I was a kid, the most exciting part of Christmas was making that one extra special wish and hoping that Santa (Possibly my parents ^_~) could make that wish come true. Now that I'm all grown up and have kids of my own, I'd like to share that experience of joy and excitement not just to my family but to as many people as I can. The season of love and giving grows in our heart especially with all the Christmas songs playing in each corners of the streets, stores filled with our favorite sumptuous Bibingka and Puto Bumbong and the many malls going on sale!
The whole family is hyped with all the Christmas songs playing and decided to already decorate our home a little. We started with some simple decorations that can be made with recycled materials like ; old magazines, broken CDs and some used colored paper.
(A very advance Merry Christmas from Team Poreber)
I've been thinking of what to include in our Christmas Bucket List but couldn't really decide what to get or do for the whole family. That's when me and hubby decided to do some window shopping. What better way to get gifting ideas than asking the people who's making the actual wish right? We can practically get almost everything we might need or want this coming Christmas at any SM Supermalls. The thought itself of being able to gaze upon your wish made us want Christmas to come already.
Here's our Christmas Bucket List ala Team Poreber Style!
A mother's wish for herself always ends up being for the sake of her family. I guess that's just how a mom is and always will be. I have two things on my wish list but I already got a surprise hair makeover (for the benefit of my husband, so he can have a lovely wife ^_~.)
I'm taking this gifting to the next level because there's no guessing anymore. The Christmas gift ideas can't be anymore specific as what they have shown me hahaha!
Here's hubby with his yearly wish. A brand new pair of shoes to get a kick start ahead for Christmas.
Our little boy feeling like a pro motorcyclist.
Our fairy princess wanting her own fairy doll.
and our cutie pie with a Minie Mouse stuff toy that's as tall as her!
These definitely needs some adjustments on our budget and we have no less than 2 months to make it work. Will this plan work? I guess we'll find out on my next post the week before Christmas.
We also have a tradition every year with the influence of my In laws. A way for us to give back to others every Christmas, as thanks for all the love, happiness and blessings that we receive each year.
We normally grab a few extra grocery items, not for ourselves but for the less fortunate families in the streets. Circumstances has given those families harder trials to overcome in their lives. It's sad to see so many homeless families in some corner of streets in Manila. We know the hardship and struggles of someone trying to give a better future for his family and that’s why we do what we can to also help those people striving hard for the sake of their family.
I guess the odds are in our favor when SM Supermalls announced their Merry SM Christmas campaign. Those Holiday Gift Basket would be Love in a basket for those families.
Just in case going street by street and handing out some grocery baskets is a little bit too much, you're in luck! It would be my pleasure to inform you that SM Supermalls is once again opening it's doors towards giving joy to less fortunate children from various orphanages and charitable institutions through the SM Cares Program.
Last year we were able to be part of this heartwarming campaign which is a win win situation. You get to have one random kid experience the joy and love of a stranger through giving away 1 teddy bear and in return you get to get one for yourself or give one to your love one.
Hubby got a sweet kiss from our eldest daughter and she just love the teddy bear. It's going to be my turn this year to once again make another kid smile along with our youngest daughter as we take part of this campaign. (It's also a chance for lonely teddy at home to get a matching new teddy. ^-^)
How about it guys? Dare to take gifting to the next level? You never know, Santa might also bring you're presents to the next level by being a good boy or girl. Happy Holidays!
