From the moment you become a mom, you also become an early riser. Babies and children don’t always sleep well, and even when they do, they always seem to get up early. So once you become a parent, for the most part, you can kiss goodbye to those lovely lay-ins, snuggled up in your comfy, cozy bed. Which means that it’s important to become a morning person - as learning to love getting up earlier will make those hectic school run mornings that little bit easier.

Get up earlier than the kids

The last thing you want is to have to fight to get into the bathroom or struggle to have time to do your hair and makeup. So, with that in mind, it’s best to get up earlier than the kids, to give yourself time to prepare for the day. Say, for example, your kids get up at 7 am, aim to get up at least 45-minutes before them. That way you will have time to take a shower, get dressed without rushing, do your hair, and do anything else that helps to prepare you for the day.
Start the day with a nice cup of coffee
To wake yourself up in the morning, start the day with a nice energy-boosting cup of coffee. Once you’re up and dressed, make getting a coffee the first thing that you do.
