When Bigger Isn't Better: These Alternative Homes Are Guaranteed To Make You Want To Pack Your Bags!

For a lot of people, it often seems as though the only options they have when it comes to their homes are apartments or houses. Now, there's nothing wrong with that. People can often find some truly incredibly houses and apartments that they are happy in for years and years. However, if you're working on a budget, or even just looking for something a little bit different, these options can be kind of limited. That being said, there are many different options that you can choose from as long as you're willing to trade in a few things. The most common trade in when people are looking for an alternative home is space, but if you're willing to make some adjustments in your life, then you're likely to find that bigger isn't always better!
Mobile homes

Mobile homes get a bit of a bad reputation among a lot of people who assume they're going to be run-down, trailer park style situations without any decent home comforts. However, the reality couldn't be more different. Many mobile homes are actually incredibly high quality, not to mention surprisingly spacious. Sure, you're not going to get quite the amount of space that you would from a house, but given just how much money you're saving on it, that's not a bad trade off. Not only that but you have the freedom to either have the home fixed in place or for it to be easily transportable. You also have the opportunity for a mobile home to be modular which makes it much easier to add to and change as you see fit.

Houseboats

One of the very best things about living on a houseboat is that it's not just a property, it's a lifestyle! If you really want something a bit different, then a houseboat is definitely the property for you! Many of them are surprisingly large with as many as two or three bedrooms, all in that wonderful nautical style. And if you ever get bored of being in one place too long, you just unhook yourself from your moorings and sail off to somewhere new! Sure, there's going to be a bit of work that you have to do to keep it up and running, but it's not that much more than if you were just maintaining a house.

Vehicles

Who doesn't love the call of the open road? Haven't you ever had the dream of just piling you and your family into a van and taking off for a genuine adventure? Well, why not do just that? There are plenty of vans on the market that are surprisingly impressive living spaces with places to cook and sleep. Sure, you'll need to adopt a slightly more minimalist lifestyle than you might be used to, but it's worth it if you're really craving the chance to get away and enjoy the freedom of being on the road.

Sure, these kinds of properties aren't going to be for everyone but for those that they are, they offer the chance to try something totally different while also saving a huge amount of money.
