Easy Dory Kabayaki Recipes: Perfect for the Holy Week

Last Valentine's Day, I shared with you about our quick and easy but oh so fancy Valentine's dinner featuring Sarangani Bay's Dory Kabayaki. And, since it's the Holy Week, and a lot of people, including myself are observing meatless week. I am sharing with you the recipes of the 2 meals I prepped. They are the Dory Kabayaki with Sweet Pea, Corn, and Carrots and Dory Kabayaki with Spinach and Shitake Mushrooms.

In case you missed it, I also posted on Facebook and Instagram a short unboxing video of the kit I received which includes the ingredients and the recipes. Here it is:

Dory Kabayaki is a Japanese delicacy and a special twist to the usual unagi. Instead of getting eel to satisfy your Kabayaki cravings, you can enjoy the authentic flavors of Kabayaki with Cream Dory, which is as tasty and as healthy as an eel.

Also, if you like teriyaki, I'm sure you'll love kabayaki just as much. Kabayaki exudes an irresistible sweet soy sauce flavor similar to teriyaki.

Preparing Dory Kabayaki is as easy as it gets. That's why it's a perfect dinner dish for a date night at home or any kind of celebration or just as a simple dinner with your family.

Dory Kabayaki with Sweet PeaCorn, and Carrots

Ingredients:

1 pack of Sarangani Bay Dory Kabayaki
steamed Japanese rice
spring onions, chopped
1/2 cup sweet pea, trimmed
1/4 cup canned sweet corn
1/4 cup carrots, sliced
1-2 pcs nori sheets (optional)

Procedure:

1. Prepare your steamed rice.
2. Blanch your carrots, sweet pea, and sweet corn. Saute if you prefer. I sauteed the sweet corn in butter.
3. You can submerge the frozen Dory Kabayaki in a pot of hot water, or you can put it in your microwave at medium-high for 5-7 minutes.
4. Start plating! Put your steamed rice on a plate, put the Dory Kabayaki next.
5. Add the vegetables to your plate.
6. Sprinkle chopped spring onions on top of the Dory Kabayaki and nori sheets on top of your rice (optional).
7. Serve and Enjoy!
