How to Make Heart Shaped Hot dogs with eggs

I cooked heart-shaped hot dogs with eggs last Valentine's Day. I've been meaning to write about our #TeamBahay Valentine's Day Celebration but for countless valid and not valid reasons, it just didn't happen.

So, let me just share with you a quick recap. Since Valentine's Day falls on a weekday, we just celebrated at home. We ordered Avocado Cheesecake Carousel from Lia's Cake in Season. I cooked beef caldereta for dinner, which I planned about ahead of time. But the heart shaped hot dogs with eggs wasn't part of my plan. It just suddenly came to mind when I was thinking of what to cook for lunch. The kids loved it and I had fun making it.

Since tomorrow is Mother's Day, I just thought of sharing this with you all. We are still under extended Enhanced Community Quarantine and I know how hard it is for everyone. Some may not even have the means to prepare meals for the day, let alone to celebrate special occasions. But celebrations naman, doesn't have to be bongga, what matters is that we are safe, and we are with our family... 'di ba?

And this heart-shaped hot dog with egg is very easy to make, I plan on making it again for tomorrow's breakfast. In case you want to make it too, I'm sharing with you all how I made it.

I used jumbo-sized hot dogs. It was trial and error. At first, I had trouble forming the hot dogs into heart shapes. I was able to make 2 heart-shaped hot dogs out of 1 hot dog, so it was kinda small. But you can use 1 whole hot dog if you want. For the eggs, I want the yolks cooked since the kids will be eating it so I fried both sides. Just don't flip it if you prefer your yolks runny.

I wasn't able to take good photos but I recorded a video and just took pictures from there. Yes, I love recording videos, but no so much into editing (walang talent haha!).

Check out the video below for the recipe.

Heart Shaped Hot dogs with Eggs

Ingredients:
Jumbo-sized hot dogs
Eggs
cooking oil
water to boil the hot dog into
salt and pepper

Instructions:
1. Boil the hot dogs for 1-2 minutes
2. Slice the hot dog lengthwise, leaving at least 1 inch at the tip intact.
3. Form the hot dogs into a heart shape. Use a toothpick to hold it in place.
4. Heat greased pan and fry the hot dog.
5. Pour the egg in the middle of the heart-shaped hot dogs.
6. Fry until the egg is cooked. Flipping is optional.
7. Once cooked, place the hot dogs in a paper towel to remove excess oil.

I only used my phone for recording and editing. And yes, sariling sikap kaya malikot. Haha!

There you go! It's so easy to make, that you can make it every day even without any occasions at all. But since tomorrow is Mother's Day na, why not surprise your mom with this. Or if you are a mom, prepare this for the whole fam!

Let me know when you make it ha, post it on your Facebook, and tag @She's The Mom.

Advance Happy Mother's Day to all Momma's out there!
