A How-To Guide: One Weekend Home Deep Clean

Cleaning. We know we have to do it, but wow, is it something we’d rather not be wasting our time on. It’s a chore and it feels like one, especially when you’ve had a long day at work and just want to be zoned out on the sofa.

The general advice when it comes to cleaning is that you should do it on a little-and-often basis. Sweep a floor here; wipe down a sink there - that’s how we should all be cleaning, a little bit at a time. This belief stems from the idea that if you’re constantly doing a little bit, nothing ever mounts up and you always feel the home is at least somewhat clean.

However… how about we fly in the face of common knowledge? Rather than spreading the misery throughout our every day, is it possible to condense a major deep clean into a single weekend?

It is - and it’s worth trying, especially during the summer months when you’d rather be spending time with your kids. While you’ll still need to do the basics of daily cleaning, you can skip over anything more intensive and let it build up. Then, you can blast it in all in a single weekend.
