In the middle of 2024, I decided it was time to make a change. Life was getting busy, and I realized I wasn’t making enough time for my health. It wasn’t a New Year’s resolution or anything like that—just a mid-year wake-up call. As a mom, I know how easy it is to let self-care slip through the cracks. But this time, I was determined to turn things around.
While searching for resources to help me stay on track, I stumbled across a site that ended up being a hidden gem: culinaryschools.org.
At first, I was surprised to find a site about culinary schools while looking for weight loss tips, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed.
What caught my attention was their range of tools and resources, specifically related to weight loss and fitness. One of the most useful features I found was the Weight Loss Calculator. It helped me estimate how much I would need to adjust my diet and exercise to reach my goals. Having a clear, visual breakdown of what changes were necessary made the process less overwhelming and more achievable.
In addition, the Body Fat Calculator was another incredible resource. Knowing my body fat percentage gave me a better understanding of my fitness journey beyond just the number on the scale. It’s so easy to get caught up in just losing pounds, but understanding body composition has been a real eye-opener for me.
Lastly, the Workout Calories Calculator became a staple in my fitness routine. It allowed me to estimate how many calories I burned across a variety of exercises—up to 20 different ones! This helped me tailor my workouts based on how much I wanted to burn each day, making each session more purposeful and results-oriented.
But here’s the fun part: while browsing the site, I stumbled upon their Kids Games page. It’s packed with hundreds of online games, all about cooking and food. My youngest, Brianna, has always wanted to be a chef, so of course, I had to show her.
We ended up having so much fun playing together! We tried Cake Design, where she got to be super creative with her cake decorating.
We also played Pizzeria, which had her running her own pizza place, and our favorite— Bunniculus Kaotic Kitchen, a chaotic cooking adventure that had us laughing the whole time.
These games aren’t just for the kids either! I find myself joining in because it’s a great way to bond, and they’re honestly a lot of fun. Plus, there are tons more games to choose from, which makes this site a gem for moms looking for something educational and entertaining to do with their kids.
Honestly, what started as a search for weight loss tips turned into a much bigger experience—one that’s helped me stay healthy while also bonding with Brianna over her love of food and games. Whether you're working on your own health goals or just looking for some fun activities to enjoy with your kids, this site is definitely worth checking out.
