Hello, 2022!

Oh, how time flies so fast! Hello, 2022!

We've been battling a global pandemic for almost 2 years now. It's definitely not easy, but every New year comes with renewed hope. I am not expecting anything but, I am welcoming 2022 with a hopeful heart that soon, all of these will be over and everything will be back to normal.

So yes, I am not trying to make the usual New Year post. Instead, let me share with you some photos of my family and me during New Year's Eve.

We celebrated New Year in Tondo, Jaear's family's house. It's been like a yearly thing which we didn't get to do last year because we're really scared to go out and expose ourselves to the virus. Not that we're no longer scared. The fear is still there, but we've accepted the fact that whether we go out or not, we are still at risk of contracting the virus and that it's just a matter of time. But of course, we're still not putting our guards down.

About 4 years ago, I started this thing wherein we have a theme every New Year. Usually, it's the phantom color of the year or anything that I can think of that I can easily procure. This year, it was a last-minute decision to go polka dots. There were many colors to choose from but since I was already time-crunched, I went with the color black. Besides, it's the only color to which there were sizes for all of us, including my in-laws. I got it from Shopee!

Even with grown-up kids, it's still a challenge to have a decent family photo! Haha! These 2 photos are almost perfect, even Yoru our furbaby is looking but Tristan's "pogi" and look-away pose kinda spoiled it and I don't know where he got it from. Lol!

By the way, I ordered a smash box. It's a heart-shaped chocolate candy with treats inside. I thought it would be fun to smash it as we bid 2021 goodbye and welcome 2022.

This is what it looked like before smashing it.

And, after the heart chocolate is smashed...

Ordered this smash box on Baked Goods by Rose - FB Page. You can customize it however you like!

Here's a video I posted on IG of the kids smashing it:

Fun! Hoping to create and share more sweet memories with the family this 2022! I hope the same with you and your family. Happy New Year!
