Pest Off! Rat Glue Board and Cereal Bait: Product Review + Giveaway

"You pesky little critter I thought you were cute now you're just a little pain in our boot.
You pesky little critters turning things upside down, you're messing up our friendly little town."

So this song from Sheriff Callie is the first thing that I thought of when I hear the word rat. (This is what happens when kids take over the television. LOL!) Though personally I don't find rats really cute. They look scary especially the big ones, they nibble on foods, nip on clothes and other stuff and they are filthy. What's even more scary is that they carry health threatening diseases, such as leptospirosis which is prevalent during rainy seasons. And boy am I glad that we don't have to deal with this pesky little critters here in the condo, well none that I know of. However, it's the opposite in Jaear's family house in Manila. That's why when I was given a box full of Pest Off! Rat Control products I knew it would be in good use.

Pest Off! is a brand owned by Global Winds Corporation, a duly registered company with the Food and Drug Administration as a Household /Urban Hazardous Substance Distributor/Importer/Wholesaler. Pest Off! carries a wide variety of extensive insect and rat control products that has every family's well-being in mind.

Pest Off! sent me their 2 Rat control product line; the Ready to Use Cereal Bait and the Glue Boards.

Pest Off! Ready-to-Use Cereal Bait contains 2nd generation anticoagulant compound, Brodifacoum. Anticoagulants prevent blood clotting that leads to internal haemorrhaging and eventually to death of the rodent.

What I liked about the Pest Off! Ready-to-Use Cereal Bait
  • Effective- Since it contains 2nd generation anticoagulant, it effectively and efficiently eliminates rats and mice in just a single feeding.
  • Affordable- It's affordable compared to other brands. Other brands also contain 1st generation anticoagulants Warfarin & Coumatetralyl which requires multiple doses so Pest Off! lasts longer.
Con:
  • Cereal baits are poisonous and by far the least humane way to deal with rats. It sure is effective but it doesn't take effect instantly, rats still get the chance to run and hide so you still have to hunt for the dead stinking rat.
Pest Off! Glue Boards on the other hand are the ultimate and modern rat and mice catching traps. It contains super adhesive and non-toxic glue that catches pesky rodents.

Considering that rats vary from house hold to house hold, Pest Off! provides consumers with 8 varieties of Pest-Off Glue Boards fit for the consumer's problems and needs.

2 pcs. per set of unscented Cardboard Glue Board (Php142.75) and  Word Board Glue Board (Php148.75)

2pcs. Pest-Off Rat Catcher Plastic Board with Peanut and Cheese Attractant Scent (Php157.25)

4 pcs. Pest-Off Rat Catcher Plastic Board in unscented (Php90.25), Peanut and Cheese Attractant Scent (Php96.25)

Pest-Off! Glue Boards' super adhesive glue practically looks like "water in a shallow container". Because according to studies, rat's main important consumption is water; they need ½ to 1 ounce of water as it cannot survive long without it. So this design somehow lures the rats and mice to drink they eventually get trapped and die.

We are currently here in Manila for the wake of Jaear's grandmother who just died last Friday (a very sad event) so we got to test all the glue boards as well.

What I liked about the Glue Boards:
  • Convenient- It's easy to use, just place them on the usual travel routes of mice and rats. Disposal is also hassle free, just place the board together with the rat and place in a tightly tied plastic bag.
  • Effective- As long as it's placed on the usual routes, rats will get trapped on the super adhesive glue. Rats can be seen dead right on their tracks therefore, no need to look for stinking and rotting rats all over the house.
  • Safe- The adhesive glue is non toxic so it's safe for everyone. In case a body part gets in contact with the adhesive, simply wipe away with baby oil or mineral oil and then wash with water and soap.
  • Affordable- Compared to other brands, Pest Off! is more affordable with more varieties to choose from.
I actually couldn't think of anything that I'd like to change about the glue boards, I like everything about it and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Just in time for the rainy season wherein flooding is highly anticipated, together with it comes a dreaded disease, leptospirosis and over 70 other health threatening diseases and serious infections. So it's really important to clean our house and get rid of those pesky critters. And to help you with that, I am giving away 2 Pest Off! Rat Control product line worth Php1,000 each to 2 lucky readers!

Winning is easy peasy, just enter and earn raffle entries through the rafflecopter widget below:

P.S. I'll verify each entries at the end of the giveaway period so please make sure to follow mandatory steps to qualify. Thank you for your usual support!

Good luck everyone!

Kenwood Launched in the Philippines

I love to cook, but no I'm not an expert not even close. Good thing I have Google to save my butt in the kitchen. I mostly rely on Google for recipes and almost any questions I have related to cooking. Lol! But I've always dreamed of having a spacious kitchen complete with all the high quality kitchen appliances there is. I believe that having complete kitchen appliances will further motivate me to be the best cook I can be.
Who wouldn't be right? That's why I was eager to attend the launching of a famous and iconic British brand here in the Philippines. I was excited to see the range of products that they offer.

The event was held last July 21, 2016 at the Residence of the British Ambassador to the Philippines, Honorable Asif Ahmad in North Forbes Park.

Kenwood has revolutionized home cooking and pioneered kitchen automation since 1947. It was founded by Kenneth Wood and  in 2,000 Kenwood joined De'Longhi Group which opened up a new era of expansion. Today, Kenwood is present in over 40 countries and produces over 200 different models. For over 60 years their most important mission is to delight customers and make their experience in the kitchen both easier and more rewarding.

The event launched Kenwood's award-winning products which are driven by quality, innovation and design. Top Culinary Schools in Metro Manila; Enderun, CCA, ISCAHM and Southville Foreign University also participated by showcasing Filipino local food with a British twist that they prepared using Kenwood appliances.

I personally liked the Kare-Kare Tortellini and the Filipino-British meat pie
with arroz ala cubana filling.

This British Flag themed cupcake pull parts are pretty, you don't wanna ruin it.

It was also thrilling to be able to witness the British Ambassador, Honorable Asif Ahmad do a live cooking demo, of course with the use of Kenwood appliance.

For the event, Kenwood also collaborated with Mini Cooper to put on a show to everyone who attended. I can't believe what I witnessed in front my very eye, a Kenwood Mixer pulling/towing the Mini Copper with 4 people in it! Just wow! It only goes to show how sturdy Kenwood products are.

Watch the video here:

It's no surprise that Kenwood won over 38-member jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 beating 4,928 entries from 56 countries. Throughout the world and across different industries, Red Dot is seen as the award for high design quality. The international Red Dot jury bestows the sought-after seal of quality only to those products that stand out clearly from comparable entries thanks to their excellent design.

With my blogger friends Lhyzie and Eihdra.
The night was filled with sumptuous food, unlimited drinks and ended with a raffle. I won a Demo and Tasting GC to Enderun Colleges and my blogger friend Eihdra won a Kenwood Food processor, so lucky! How I wish to have my own Kenwood appliances in my kitchen too!

Looking to the future, Kenwood’s aim is to carry on serving the needs of people's changing lifestyles — setting the standard for affordable, high quality innovation for millions of customers all over the world. And, I'm glad that Kenwood products are now available in the Philippines, so if you have passion for cooking like I do, then you should check out Kenwood product and share with me your experience!

Say It with Confidence, Say It with Swish!

A few days ago, I came across a video by Swish on Facebook. It looks like a guy about to propose, scenes like this excites me so I watched until the end and surprisingly the video has a twist at the ending. No, I wont spill the beans and I'll let you watch it for yourself.

Here it is:

You can view the video on their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/SwishOfficial/

Isn't it funny? All along I thought it's about to get romantic, haha! Even though the video didn't turn out to be the way most people expect it to be, but the video sure taught us lesson. A lesson on how to always stay confident and prepared by highlighting the importance of having fresh breath even in an instant which is now possible with just 1 #superpump of Swish Breath Spray! Lucky me I received some for me to try, thanks Unilab!

Well, we all know that brushing our teeth is part of our everyday hygiene it gives us fresh breath. But as much as we want to maintain a long lasting fresh breath, unfortunately we can't. The moment we eat, the smell of these foods invade our mouth so when we speak we might be breathing out the smell of garlic, onion or whichever food we ate. Yikes!

I've been in this kind of situation several times already because blogging and my job requires me to attend events, meet and socialize with different people. However, after eating and with few sips of drinks I tend to lose my confidence and avoid conversations making me lose a lot of opportunities. Only because I'm conscious with what my breath would smell like. How I wish I can brush my teeth or gargle with mouth wash but there's just no time! This is also the same thing when I attend PTA meeting at my kids' school. Sometimes I bring candies with me but it's not enough it doesn't kill the bacteria that causes foul breath and it makes me prone to tooth decay too. That's why I'm so glad when I found out about this Swish Breath Spray, indeed it's a life saver!

Here are the thing I love about the Swish Breath Spray:
  • It provides instant fresh breath in just 10 seconds. Perfect when you're on the go.
  • It comes in convenient 10ml bottles, very handy.
  • It kills bad breath-causing bacteria so it doesn’t just mask odor.
  • It comes in 2 flavors to choose from: Arctic Chill and Peppermint Fresh.
  • It's sugar-free- fends off cavities, no more tooth decay.
  • It's alcohol free- no sting.
  • It's affordable. Piso (Php 1) per spray (at P105 and lasts up to 100 sprays)
  • It's available in Mercury Drug, Watsons, South Star, Robinsons, Puregold, Shopwise and other selected drugstores and/or supermarkets nationwide.
  • It's made by Unilab – a trusted name!

So from now on, this Swish Breath Spray is a definite must have item in my bag. I'm never leaving the house without it! If you have similar experience like mine, it's time to save yourself from any further embarrassment. You don't have to be held captive by foul smelling breath because instant fresh breath can be achieved. Get your confidence back in 3 easy steps, 1. grab your Swish Breath Spray, 2. #superpump and 3. #SayItWithSwish!

What’s it like Working with Mom?

She carried me in her womb for 9 months. Brought me into this world, cared and nurtured me during my early years. She's my teacher, my first best friend, my number one fan and my personal nurse; these are just among the many roles she does as my mother.

I was the youngest among four siblings, thus I was very close with my mom. I was inseparable from her. However as I grew up, the special bond and attachment I had with my mom changed little by little. Growing up, I would seek for independence and freedom and this would cause conflict between us. I have committed a lot of mistakes, even terrible ones but I never got judged by my mom with my poor judgement. But yes my mom would scold me. She could go on and on talking about what I did which is kind of irritating (if you know what I mean lol) but then again she only hopes to instil lessons on me and help me make better judgements in the future.

Mothers are amazing right? And now that I’m already a mom, I understand and appreciate my mom even more. All the constant nagging and the persistence was all for me, because indeed mothers only want what’s best for their children.

Every mother does their best to make this world a better place to live in for all their children, but would it be the same if we are working with mom in the same workplace?

I know this isn’t a common situation as most companies don’t allow mother-child, girlfriend-boyfriend or any relationships in the workplace just like in the previous company I worked for. But I am entertained when I learned that there are still companies who allow this. And it just suddenly crossed my mind, what’s it like working with mom?

Well, I really couldn’t tell since I haven’t experienced it personally but I have been thinking about this because in my previous work, I have colleagues who are mothers too and I’ve seen how motherly they are to everyone. Also relating it to how my mom is, I can already imagine how it’s going to be like. So I came up with this list.

1. You got a piece of “home” at work- Admit it or not but not everyone really like their job/work, sometimes it’s just the people in the workplace that makes them enjoy going to work. Now imagine having your mom in the office, it’s like having a piece of home and comfort in the workplace.

2. You have a cheerleader- You know when situation at the workplace gets challenging and you feel like giving up? Well, working with mom is a totally different thing. She’ll be there cheering for you. Go go go! Y-O-U-C-A-N-D-O-I-T-!

3. Free lunch, everyday!- Remember when you spent almost your entire salary because you reached your credit cards limit? Or running out of budget perhaps? Worry no more, because working with mom means free lunch and yes it can be every single day!

4. Free ride to and from work- Got no wheels? No cash for public transport? Here comes mom to the rescue!

5. Save more - So you get free lunch and free rides. You won’t be spending as much as you use to.

6. Stronger bond with mom- Regardless of living with your mom in the same house or not, working with mom in the same workplace will surely strengthen your bond not just as mother and grown child but as friends too!

Working with mom could both be a blessing and sometimes a challenge especially when personal issues get their way into the workplace. But every problem has a solution. Everything will eventually be alright. And with all the positive side of working with mom in the same workplace, I’m sure the negative side will be outweighed.

How’d you like the idea of working with your mom? Are you ready to enjoy all its perks and surpass its challenges?

Review | Mighty Mom: A Mighty Dishwashing Liquid of Choice For Every Home

Just like a kid who gets all giddy when given a new toy, as a mom, I too get happy and excited when given stuff especially things that can help me in my household chores. And a week ago, I received a household product, a 750ml Mighty Mom Dishwashing Liquid in Lemon variant for me to try and review.

Honestly, it was the first time that I came across this brand and I'm happy because I'm discovering something new. Aside from the Mighty Mom Dishwashing Liquid the package also includes a 500ml Doctor J Isopropyl Alcohol which I reviewed here. Upon receiving the products, I immediately made my own research. These two brands are actually manufactured by KOHL INDUSTRIES CORPORATION.

KOHL INDUSTRIES CORPORATION is a Philippine FDA CGMP, Certified Manufacturing Corporation and is recognized as a trusted manufacturer of high-grade disinfectants, personal care, household products and medical device solutions  in the Philippines. It is proudly Filipino-owned and was incorporated in June 2002 by Mr. Aton C. Atilano.

With its Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice, Kohl Industries Corporation develops products specially for professional use. Formulated together with an expert team of chemists and pharmacists, their products adhere to the strictest standards set by top hospitals, where only high-level cleansing is accepted. Knowing this, I felt confident that my family will be in good hands.

On my previous post I've mentioned that I don't really like washing the dishes but as a mom and without a helper who else would get the job done? Of course me.....and Jaear, yes we take turns with household chores! But I was the one who got to try the Mighty Mom dishwashing liquid first and shared with him my impression which I will also be sharing with you.

The brand name itself, Mighty Mom Dishwashing Liquid makes it appealing to every mommies and adding to it is the mommy image on the label. Cool! Its packaging also is comparable to those leading brands, its made out of thick durable plastic dispenser with a pump. I prefer pump dispenser the most as it's easier to use.

On its label, it's stated "Concentrated" and that is why it's frothy and has long lasting bubbles which I find entertaining every time I wash the dishes. Haha! In terms of its scent, since I got the Lemon variant, it's sweet and citrusy. It smells good but just overpowering and leaves a clean fragrant scent on the plates and glasses especially plastic ones. So if you don't want it to leave a smell on, rinse it properly and I suggest you to only use a little amount of dishwashing liquid or you can even dilute it in water. And, because it's concentrated, you can actually save, even a little drop will go a long way, so a bottle will last for a longer time for sure.

Aside from the Lemon variant, Mighty Mom is also available in endearing scent of Kalamansi which is my favorite, and the newest to the group, Vitamin E infused Soft Skin variant. Can't wait to try them all!

Mighty Mom dishwashing liquid also effectively cleans and cuts grease. Just make sure to properly rinse your dishes also to avoid food residues. What I like the most about Mighty Mom is that it has Anti-bacterial properties not only cleaning our plates and utensils but disinfects it making them germ free as well. Great isn't it?

And another good news, Mighty Mom is easy on the pocket! They are doing an ad campaign on several stores and they also supply this in bundles unlike other dishwashing liquid in the market.

For SM supermarkets, a 500mL bottle with 2 FREE 250mL pouch is priced at Php88.00 only and a 1 Liter bottle with pump + FREE 3 250mL pouch is priced at Php149.00 only. For Shopwise, a 750mL bottle with 2 FREE 250mL pouch is priced at Php149.75 and a 500mL bottle bundled with another 500mL bottle is priced at Php95.00 only. For Robinsons, a 250mL bottle with 2 FREE 250mL pouch is priced at Php49.75 only. What a great deal! It's definitely worth hoarding for as this can be stored for a long time plus buying this is supporting local products, as this is Proudly Pinoy-owned.

Give it a try mommies, not only are you going to make big savings but you are also ensured that your dishes are clean, deodorized, germ free and that your family is safe! Indeed a mighty dishwashing liquid of choice for Supermoms.

Mighty Mom is currently available in Robinsons Supermarket, SM Supermarket, SM Savemore, SM Hypermarket, Fishermall, APCES, Shopwise, to name a few. It is also available in Marketa, an online market place.

Product Review: Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid

Out of all the many household chores I get to do on a daily basis, washing the dishes is one I'm good at but it's the least favorite of mine. I don't really like doing it which is why I tend to not wash the dishes right after eating. I usually leave the soiled dishes we used during breakfast on the sink and just wash it after dinner and sometimes the day after. Good thing, I get Jaear to wash the dishes sometimes. But even though I'm not fond of dish washing, I'm meticulous and I make sure the plates and utensils are not greasy and there's no deep seated dirt. And, I can say that I'm good at it because I've been doing it since I was still in grade school, Grade 5 or 6 I guess.

I have tried using dish washing pastes before but I prefer the liquid one. I only know a few brands of dishwashing liquid and a week ago I got to discover another one, the Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid. Ms. Jhen Dizon of Mikewell Corp. sent me 3 270ml bottles to try, it comes in 3 variants; Kalamansi, Lemon and Antibac.

It's housed in a clear plastic container and comes in a pull through spout which allows you to control your desired amount of dishwashing liquid. At first I actually had a hard time opening it, you have to take a good grip and put extra effort pulling up the spout.

Their tagline, "MABILIS BANLAWAN, BANAYAD SA KAMAY"/ "Easy Rinse. Gentle on Hands" got me curious and excited that's why we used it right away. On the first 3 days we have used all the variants already but have used the Kalamansi variant the longest.

Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid is non toxic as it is made with biodegradable ingredients making it environment friendly, safe and gentle. Climate change is one of our major concern nowadays and knowing that there are still green products that are safe for our environment gives me hope. I just hope that more people would be aware and make green choices.

Since it's safe and gentle, my hands did not feel any irritation at all, unlike other dishwashing liquids wherein you'd feel the strong chemicals used. It's also a plus that its scent is just mild and doesn't leave a smell on the dishes after rinsing.

In terms of effectiveness, I can say that it is competitive. It doesn't produce long lasting bubbles but it cleans well, cuts off grease and doesn't leave residues even on plastic containers. Of course no matter how effective a product is you also have to scrub and rinse the dishes properly, not in a hurried manner. But the good thing with Bubble Man is that it's easy to rinse allowing you to save time and water, very economical right?

Now, given its effectiveness and all other positive things about Bubble Man I bet you are thinking that it's expensive! Well, I have a good news for you. Not all good and quality products are expensive. Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid is very affordable, a 270ml bottle is at Php32.50 only and the 880ml bottle is only for 65Php. They have an ongoing promo wherein you can buy two bottles of 880ml  for only Php120 and two bottles of 270ml for Php55 only. What a steal!

So mommies if you are looking for ways to save money without compromising quality, I suggest you try Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid. Don't forget to share with me your thoughts and experience!

For more updates check Bubble Man Dishwashing Liquid on Facebook

Robin and Mariel Padilla, First Celebrity Brand Ambassadors of Hotel Sogo

Gone are the days when Hotel Sogo is known as a “motorist hotel” or a "short time" hotel as it recently re-invented its brand to cater to families, ‘barkadas’ and just about everybody from all walks of life and for all types of occasions. Families can enjoy free wi-fi access, cable TV with in-house movie channels, digital music system, 24-hour food and beverage service among the hotel’s most popular amenities. Apart from the five room types of Regency, Executive, Deluxe, Premium and Econo, Hotel Sogo also came up with themed rooms to entice their guests’ senses. One of which was the Hello Kitty Themed Room which has gone viral on social media recently.
"If we continue to cater to just this limited market we cannot grow. We knew for quite some time now that it makes sense to cater to different segments in the market." said Mr. Gus Corpuz CEO of Hotel Sogo when asked for the reason behind the reinvention
After marketing studies and financial analysis we eventually decided that the best way is to hire a brand ambassador. This project has been on the pipeline for more than 6 months, debating on what is the best way to communicate to the general public that Hotel Sogo is more than just a short time hotel.” He added.

And last May 24, 2016, Hotel Sogo formally introduced its first Celebrity Ambassadors, one of showbussiness' most adorable couple today, Robin and Mariel Padilla.

“2-3 months of research, focus group discussion, we came from long list of possible endorsers and I can say that they were by far compared to the setting, there’s also a big difference in which people felt would be good endorser. Robin's “maka-masa” appeal, certainly played in to that, his credibility of course is another factor as he says he does not accept any endorsements so we have high hopes on how he can help tell the public that Hotel Sogo is an alternative to the 3, 4, 5 star hotels especially in terms of convenience and accessibility." said Mr. Corpuz

Aside from this, Hotel Sogo is also pursuing social initiatives such as “Doctors on Wheels” (DOW), a program that provides free medical consultations and medications to the under-served communities throughout the country. To date, the said program already helped 3,000 indigents since its inception in 2015.

Robin and Mariel Padilla are excited to work with Hotel Sogo in promoting its hotels and supporting its social initiatives. They will be featured in several advertisements on TV, radio and print.

Robin and Mariel are both accommodating, they graced everyone's request to have photos with them. Of course I wouldn't miss it!

Hotel Sogo strives to be at the forefront of the lodging chain industry - accessible and continuously providing clean, high quality, satisfying, good and affordable service. It is also known for having courteous, well-trained and hospitable staff through continuous employee trainings and seminars at the Hotel Management Institute of the Philippines. Hotel Sogo is also planning on building 5 more hotels this 2016.

My First Brigada Eskwela with Nippon Paint Colourful Dreams

School days will soon be upon us, parents and students are already busy buying school supplies prepping up for the upcoming school year. It makes me reminisce the time when I was still a student, now I have my own kids who I sent to school. Time flies by so fast! I know first day of school can be exciting for most students and I want to be part of that excitement even in a small way that's why when I got invited for a Brigada Eskwela in one of the schools here in Las Pinas I was excited too, as I have also wanted to do volunteer works.
Painting a tree on one of the classrooms together with my talented fellow Blogger, Martin
It was fun, and the thought of doing it for the children makes it more special.
Brigada Eskwela is a modern bayanihan where nationwide voluntary effort is done to make sure that public schools are clean, safe and conducive for learning. The Department of Education-Las Piñas Division’s Brigada Eskwela Adopt-A-School-Program encourages private companies, professionals, and education stakeholders to contribute their time and resources in helping in the school maintenance effort to ensure that public school facilities are ready for opening this June. And Nippon Paint (Coatings) Philippines which recently launched its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative dubbed as Colourful Dreams, has endeavored to support this.

“We at Nippon Paint have always wanted to give back to the community and share with them our success in the three years that we have been in the Philippines. What better way to do these than to support a meaningful project like Brigada Eskwela. We are thankful to have found partners in DepEd-Las Piñas and PSID-AA, with whom we share a common goal of creating a safe, conducive and colourful environment for children’s learning and development,” relates Nippon Paint (Coatings) Philippines General Manager, Michael Chung.
Carrying the theme “Create Joy Today, Hope for Tomorrow”, Nippon Paint Colourful Dreams has also partnered with the Philippine School of Interior Design Alumni Association (PSID-AA), whose members have volunteered to share their skills and talents.

Nippon Paint Colorful Dreams’ first Brigada Eskwela beneficiary school is Pamplona Elementary School Central in Las Piñas City, which welcomes about 3,000 students every school year. Together with volunteers from PSID-AA, Teachers, Parents and Pupils and Bloggers too, Nippon Paint painted the school’s library, reading corners, hallways, and exterior premises with designs that inspire creativity and fun learning.

As part of its Green movement, which emphasizes on developing and offering green products to ensure sustainability, and the agreement with DepEd - Las Piñas, Nippon Paint used its new toluene-free Pylox Spray Paint and Green Choice Series, a line of high-quality coatings that are water-based, no added lead and mercury, and near-zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) coatings. This means these products are environment friendly and most significantly, safe for everyone specially children.

Being a paint company, Nippon Paint knows that even a little bit of paint and colour can go a long way in making learning fun and engaging. Through its Colourful Dreams and Brigada Eskwela CSR program, Nippon Paint aims to motivate students to learn with joy, be their best and hope to achieve their most colourful dreams.

There were also a Story telling session, afterwards the kids also joined the mural painting.
I'm proud of our finished product! I hope the kids will love the fresh coat
of color and hope we have poured in our works together with Nippon.
As a final note, Chung concludes, “While this is the first time that we are launching Colourful Dreams in the country, we have been reaching out to the academic community through the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award, which recognizes the talents and potentials of student interior designers and architects, a service that we do for the professional design industry. Brigada Eskwela, on the other hand, is geared towards younger students and the community as a whole. In the future, Nippon Paint aims to expand its CSR initiatives by working with more communities on projects that are meaningful and beneficial to people.”

Modern Urban Moms Gathered at the Good Houskeeping MUMS of Manila

I like participating on activities that help me develop my skills, help me become a better mom and person as a whole. That's why when I got an invite for the gathering of Modern Urban Moms (MUMS) or MUMS of Manila event I did not think twice.

MUMS of Manila was held last May 28, Saturday, from 1:00 to 6:00 PM, at the SM Mall of Asia Main Mall, Atrium. It was presented by SM Supermalls and Scotch Brite and organized by Good Housekeeping Philippines, the leading family and home magazine in the country, in partnership with SmartParenting.com.ph and Yummy magazine.

May is a special month for Good Housekeeping, not only because Mother’s Day falls on this month, but also because it’s the magazine’s anniverary. This year, we turned 18! We would like to thank all our loyal readers for being with us all this time and for making Good Housekeeping stronger every year. Holding events like MUMS of Manila is our way of reaching out to our readers and giving back to them for their support.”  said Tisha Alvarez, Editor-in-Chief of Good Housekeeping.

MUMS of Manila was a whole-day event where moms could SHOP, LEARN and ENJOY.

There were a total of 30 concessionaires to SHOP from, each offering the latest products covering beauty and wellness, food, kids, and home, among others.

At the Goldilocks booth, they offered "Decorate Your Own Polvoron" wherein mommies and kids can participate on with a minimum purchase requirement. Goldilocks and Downy Baby Gentle are the minor sponsors of the event.

Pufft homemade marshmallows has the cutest booth of all. they have different mallow flavors to choose from and I got to taste the salted caramel one, yummy! They also have toasted marshmallows and offer caterings.

The Iced Cacao Tea from Southern Folk was so good! They also have the Crunch Tablea Spread which is a perfect pair to your graham crackers or anything!

I together with my Mommy Blogger friends had our photo taken at the Pioneer Epoxyclay booth, which is one of the major sponsors of the event together with Baby Company.

At the Home Boulevard, Home Suites had a booth wherein they gave out that colorful rainbow sofa bed as a raffle prize. Joining was super easy, a co-Mommy blogger won, so lucky!

I was tempted to get pampered at the Pamper Ave. but tried to hold off as we have lots of activities ahead.

Instead, I joined Beauty and Butter's Spin the Wheel game hoping to score some goodies or service discount but just didn't got the luck. "Maybe I'm luckier in love" as stated on my wheel of fortune. Hahaha

The event was also a time to LEARN from a series of talks from Good Housekeeping editors and experts.

For hardworking moms who don’t want to compromise style and beauty, Ara Fernando, Lancome PH Ambassador for Make-up, conducted a “Basic Brow Masterclass.” while Elaine Natividad, Beauty and Features Editor of Good Housekeeping, shared “10 Ways to Style Your Scarf”

I'm one of the moms who face the perpetual problem of clutter, so it was nice listening to the Editor-in-Chief Tisha who talked about organizing homes with “Say Goodbye to Kalat.”

I signed up for 2 workshops to give way to other mommy attendees as each workshop only has limited slots, beside we also left early for a scheduled event. Some of the events are Simple physical exercises at home which was presented by Managing Editor Angela Constantino Aquino in “Health Hacks,” while Anika Ventura, professional travel and lifestyle writer and editor, talked about “Everyday Fitness.” Roselle Miranda, Good Housekeeping’s Food Editor, demonstrated some no-cook dishes for moms pressed for time. And lastly, a calligraphy class was conducted by Staff Writer Nicole Sindiong, together with professional teacher and calligraphy artist Paola Esteron.

Above all these activities, all Mums of Manila attendees ENJOYed games, raffles, prizes, and entertainment! Looking forward for more events like this.
