Get Ready For Spring Cleaning!

The days are getting longer, the chill in the air is starting to fall away, and the can feel the warm feeling of the sun on your skin every time you step outside. There's no doubt about it, winter is gone, and spring is well and truly on its way. There are plenty of things that come along with the spring season. Blossoms, baby animals, and, of course, spring cleaning. For some it's the perfect time to, both figuratively and literally, brush off the cobwebs and make a new start, while other people dread the idea of having to bust out the feather dusters and scrubbing brushes. Whatever you think about spring cleaning, it's definitely the perfect time to give your home a seriously thorough once over, and the best way to do that is room by room. With that in mind, here are some the places to focus on as you clean your way through your home.

The living room

It's time to start moving some furniture around. Even if you take a lot of care to sweep and vacuum up the dirt from the floor, you're never going to be able to get rid of the stuff that hides under the cupboards and the couch. You should also take this time to give the tops of all of the high shelves and surfaces a good sweep as well.

The kitchen

Get your rubber gloves on because it's time to give your appliances a thorough cleaning. Even the cleanest oven is going to collect bits of cooked on food and grease that are going to be seriously difficult to get rid of. Luckily there's plenty of strong oven cleaner available to buy as well as natural alternatives.

The bathroom

The bathroom is the place that a lot of people really dread having to deal with when it comes time to give the house a thorough clean. In reality, it's often a lot easier than you expect. By design the surfaces in your bathroom as designed to prevent dirt, grime, and germs from sticking to them. The only places that will need a serious amount of scrubbing are probably going to be your grouting and your shower screens. A lot of people tend to struggle with how to clean shower screens and actually tend to ignore is in favor of making sure that the sink and the toilet are sparkling clean. Of course, make sure that they're clean, but don't obsess over them because places like the shower often require a fair amount more work to keep clean than you might expect.

The bedrooms

Similar to the living room, it's time to clear out whatever's under the bed and give it a serious vacuuming. You should also take this opportunity to air out your mattresses. Let they stay uncovered for a good portion of the day with the windows open. That way your bed is going to stay fresh for much longer.

The yard

Over the winter the yard tends to get pretty neglected. Fortunately, as soon as the weather dries up and the sun comes out, it's time to start getting serious about it. Get the lawnmower out of the shed and trim the grass down to avoid letting it get clumpy and unkempt. Now is also the time to start planting bulbs and flowers too so that when the warmer months begin in earnest, you've got a beautiful garden to enjoy.
